Rome in One Day
Attempting to see Rome in just one day involves something of a whirlwind visit but for those with limited time in the city, being accompanied by a LivItaly guide (with private car) will certainly guarantee you the opportunity to see and experience as much as possible without the exhausting difficulties inevitably inherent when visiting a foreign city.
We start our day with the ancient city and the Colosseum to introduce you to the historical foundations upon which the eternal city has been built. A climb to the top of the Victor Emanuel Monument gives us a stunning view of all that has been uncovered and continues to be uncovered of our city's ancient history. We will then make our way to the Trevi Fountain (for the tradition coin toss!) and then, winding through enchanting alleyways hinting of the Baroque and Renaissance periods of Rome, we will make our way to the Pantheon and then Piazza Navona where we will stop for an enjoyable lunch and the best cup of espresso in town. Back in our private car, we will head towards the other side of the city which deserves our attention: from Piazza del Popolo, into Trastevere and ending at the Vatican Museum. After a complete tour of the Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica you will be ready to call it a day but with the satisfaction of knowing that your limited time in Rome was wisely spent.
